General

Why is physical therapy a good option for treatment?

We’re glad you asked! We’re kind of passionate about this one. In short, physical therapy is an effective treatment option because it relieves pain, strengthens the body, and improves mobility—rather than simply masking them like medication. Even more, physical therapy is less invasive and less expensive than surgery. It allows you to address your health needs faster, directly, and more completely.

But, we’re not just talking about any physical therapy. We’re talking about high-quality, personalized physical therapy—the type of physical therapy you’ll receive at Eclipse. Our licensed and thoroughly experienced therapists will custom tailor a treatment plan that can help you remove or reduce pain, avoid invasive surgery, reduce your need for medications, enhance your mobility, help you recover from an injury, improve your balance, and so much more.

Whatever favorite activities you want to get back to, we can customize your physical therapy to help you reach your unique goals, so request an appointment with us today!

Will physical therapy hurt?

During your visits, your physical therapist may stretch your muscles, massage tender areas, work on your range of motion, and have you perform exercises that cause a little discomfort. This is normal because these activities are working to increase flexibility, mobility, and strength in your body. Just as after a workout, you may also experience sore, tired muscles after a physical therapy session.

Your PT will educate you on what feelings and levels of pain are appropriate. Be sure to communicate with them about the intensity, frequency, and duration of your pain so they can adjust their approach.

It’s important to note though that movement not only leads to pain relief in the long run, it can also lead to pain relief during your actual session. Just be open with your therapist and they’ll take care of you.

What happens if my pain comes back?

While our treatments will help you find freedom from pain, we understand that flare-ups do happen. That’s why we’re not just here to provide initial treatment; we’re in it for the long haul! If your pain flares up, just contact us and let us know what you’re experiencing. We may suggest some modifications to your daily activities, give you a few exercises/stretches to perform, have you visit our clinic again, or have you return to your doctor.

Appointments

What should I wear to my appointment?

We want you to be as relaxed as possible during therapy. Feel free to dress in comfortable clothing that allows your therapist to easily access your problem areas. Loose-fitting clothes and supportive sneakers are good choices.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

If you’re being referred by a doctor, please bring your physical therapy referral. If you’re going through insurance, bring your insurance information. If you’re covered by Workers’ Compensation, please bring your claim number as well as your case manager’s contact information. If you’re covered by auto insurance, make sure you bring this information. Lastly, your payment information will be needed in all cases.

How long will my appointment be?

Because your first appointment includes an initial evaluation, it can range from 1 – 1.5 hours. Although the length of your future sessions depends on the personalized plan your therapist creates, they typically last one hour. Arrangements can always be made to adapt to your schedule.

Who will see me when I visit Eclipse?

Because we believe that highly-personalized treatment plans are key in helping you reach your goals, we’ll make sure you’re evaluated by one of our licensed physical therapists AND that he/she will continue to treat you during subsequent visits.

Unlike some clinics—where you see someone different each time—we want you to develop a one-on-one relationship with your therapist to maintain continuity of care. Not only will they treat your needs, but they’ll also monitor them so they know how to adjust your recovery plan as you get stronger.

How many appointments will I need to have?

Since your injury and health goals are unique, the number of sessions will depend on your situation. Based on these details, your experienced therapist will develop a plan of care that’s not only effective but also efficient. Your number of visits will be determined during your first visit, so feel free to ask additional questions at that time.

Insurance & billing

Do I need a prescription or referral to receive physical therapy?

It depends. Our direct access license allows us to provide you with high-quality physical therapy without a doctor’s prescription for 30 days. Most insurances allow for this direct access to be covered by their plans. Beyond that timeframe, a doctor’s prescription is required. The good news is that when you reach that point, we can also help you get your prescription. We’re here to help you through the whole recovery process.

In cases of Workers’ Compensation and a majority of auto accidents, a prescription is required. If you’re a post-surgical patient, you’ll most likely be given a physical therapy prescription by your surgeon so you can receive treatment beyond the 30-day period. Again, we’re here to be your trusted advisor, so we’ll work with your doctor to get that prescription.

Lastly, regardless of your insurance situation, you always have the option to access great care for 30 days without a doctor’s prescription.

Will insurance cover my treatment?

When you schedule your first appointment, we’ll collect your insurance information and verify your specific benefits. We’ll review these with you before treatment. It’s important to take this time together because everyone’s plan is different. For more information, please visit our insurance page.

What if my plan isn’t accepted, or I don’t have insurance?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. If you don’t have insurance, your plan isn’t covered, your deductible is high, or you’ve exhausted your benefits, we offer a competitive self-pay rate that still helps you access great physical therapy. For more information, please visit our insurance page.

How does your billing work?

If you’re going through insurance, copays are due when you arrive for treatment, and any out-of-pocket expenses will be billed at the end of the month. If you take advantage of our self-pay rate, you’ll simply pay for each treatment when you arrive. For more information, please visit our insurance page.

Artistic Athletics

How does PT work at your partner gymnastics clubs?

It’s all the same as if you brought your child to our traditional brick and mortar clinic—it’s just at their gym. The main benefit of seeing your child at their gym is that we can evaluate them as they perform their typical activities in a real-world context. This allows us to make real-time changes to the treatment plan in coordination with your child and their coaches. While we traditionally provide treatment during their practice time, we can also see them during or near their practice time to avoid extra driving.

Can I attend my child’s appointment?

Sure thing! If you’d like to attend so that you can meet us, ask questions, and see what we do, you’re more than welcome to.

Please know that space in the gym is limited, students don’t tend to feel worried or afraid when they work with us, and that you can always contact us digitally with questions. So, if you’d like to drop your student off and go enjoy some “you time,” you can rest assured that everything will be okay.

Can my child be seen in your Moon Township facility?

Absolutely! Based on your child’s needs and their level of progression, we may recommend this option to you. However, if you’d like to talk with us about this option prior to our recommendation, feel free to contact us.

How do I pay my bill?

Rather than having your child carry cash, a credit card, or a check to their gym, we’ll have you fill out a credit card form, which we’ll keep securely on file. You’ll then be charged for copays and any out-of-pocket expenses at the end of each month. For more information, please visit our insurance page.
